You know theres a shoe waiting to drop when there hasn't been one for a
while....
On Sunday i took the 69 for a drive in the lovely autumn weather -it ran
fine until the last couple of miles when the alternator light started to
glow intermttently - but only at higher speeds, i thought it might be
the fan belt but this seems fine and the problem is not constant - just
occasional, and so far only above 2500 rpm - any thoughts?
Then when i got home to put the car to bed i saw that it was pouring oil
out of somewhere while the engine was running - it stopped when switched
off - since it was getting dark i havnt had an opportunity to look at
what it is - watch this space...
THEN....
Wifes 93 Jeep decided to develop a power loss coupled with a nasty clunk
from the front end - i have ZERO idea how this car works so its off to
the shop tomorrow - jeep dealerships got their best ideas from Mercedes -
i.e.tell them it needs EVERYTHING and NOW and make sure the bill is over
1500!....
Resigned to this i left her the parts-hauler escort and went off to work
in the GT....
Ran fine (actually stupendously!!!!) until this evening when it started
to die at idle ..... so as we all know, ill be checking a number of
things next weekend!!
The way this is going, the Riley will be the commuter car by weeks end -
it will certainly be doing duty tomorrow!!
