I beseech the list wisdom for a recommendation on resolving problems I
am having with the turn signals on my 77 MGB. Problem is as follows:
Hazard flashers have been working.
Right turn signal almost never works. Lights will come on but will not
flash
Left turn signal works about 50% of the time. When it doesn't work
symptom is same as right side.
I have checked the ground back in the trunk, its clean. Both front and
rear lamps light bright not dim like there was a bad connection.
Bought new flasher, installed, symptoms stayed the same
For hell of it swapped hazard and turn signal flashers to see what would
happen. Now both right and left turn signals work fine but hazard
flasher cycles very faintly and very fast. If I remove one of the rear
bulbs is starts to behave closer to normal. Obviously the turn flasher
can't handle the load of both left and right simultaneously and yet when
I reduce load to just left or right it stops flashing.
I about to just buy another hazard flasher and say the hell with it.
Any thoughts of what is going on here.
