I just contacted Moss, and they informed me that they no longer carry the
electronic parts for that distributor. So it looks like I may have to go
with a
new system. I am going to try and check out my pickup coil a little more
thanks
to some data from another lister. The resistance in the pickup coil is
apparently suppose to be 3500 ohms.

Has anyone else had a hard time getting the reluctor off? I had the
distributor
off awhile back for service and could not get the reluctor to come off. I
removed the clip and washer, but the reluctor absolutely refused to budge.
I
haven't tried soaking it in PBBlaster yet (didn't have any at the time) but
may
in the future.

<< Hi all,

I have the later Lucas electronic ignition (remote amplifier type) and
I believe that I have a bad pickup coil in the distributor.
...
I looked in both the Moss and VB catalogs and neither one of them have
this pickup listed. Is there somewhere that I can get one of these?
And how much are we talking about?

I bought one from Moss several years ago via British Parts Connection.
It is not listed in their catalog, but I still have the box at
home if you need the part number. Cost was about $100, about the
same as a complete system from Crane-Allison with the advantage that
it fits properly.

If you need the part number, email me at home (schauss@worldnet.att.net).
