in his installation was different: there is no way to tack or staple this
strip so that the tack/staples would not be visible. Should I glue it?

Oops. Or should that be OOPS!

>From your description of the strip, I'm guessing it looks like upholstery
piping, with a bit of fabric wrapped around a round cord. I have no idea
how to install that without the staples showing. I'd suggest a quick trip
to your local auto trim shop for the correct trim strip. Reference:

Otherwise, maybe you can give us a better description lf the piece you have
in hand.

>Further info: my kit came with a set of screws which are used to fasten
fabric (I think) -- these have a wide flange (like a washer, but fixed to
the head). Again, the instructions with the kit do not mention using these
-- since they are zinc plated, they would be very visible if used to
install the Hydem strip.

If it's just a couple of screws, they may be intended to secure the rear
bow above the top of the rear window. Reference:

Or possibly intended to secure the ends of the front trim strip. Do you
have the arrow hear shaped trim caps that belong on the ends of the front
trim strip? Reference:
