To Mark's comments, I have to add the Watkins Glen 50th Party was just
that, a great party. I also met some luminaries including John Fitch and
Denise McCluggage. The reenactment of the 1948 race with all of the
original cars waved away under a green flag, tires smokin', unmuffled
noise and the quintessential smell of Castrol R wafting through the air
made my weekend with the T-Register.
The new cam in my TD behaved wonderfully with power I hadn't had for
several years. Bombing along RT. 414 from our hotel in Painted Post was
a blast with the exhaust note bouncing off the mountains as we motored
to the track each day.
We parked on a knoll above one section of the race course watching the
cars race Friday and Saturday. Several folk went back on Sunday morning
but alas, I had to get back to Warwick, NY.
Quite an MG celebration.
Cheers,
Dave Houser
