Weren't the '73 and '74 engines identical? -- I think that is the year that
the measurement technique changed. But I don't think they measure HP at the
wheels, rather it is a case of what accessories, etc are draining power
from the engine, isn't it?
I'm pretty sure that, outside CA, the catalytic converters were fitted to
the 74 1/2 or 75 model year cars. I had a '74 (with the Sabrina overriders)
which originally had an air pump, but no cat (at least, not when I bought
it). Bought the car in Texas, sold it in Britain to a German, who was
taking it to Germany.
