Spent Saturday driving up to the Lime Rock Vintage Festival. Took the
MGA Coupe and had a terrific day on the Taconic and all the other back
roads. Car behaved beautifully.
Went through the Flea Market looking for some specific MGTD bits and
pieces hoping Gerry Goguen would be there but alas he wasn't. George
Medynski told me he was over in England.
Continued looking through the MG spares and was stopped in my tracks by
one vendor. On one of his tables were several pewter pieces from various
T-Register events over the years. My heart stopped when I saw the name
of the very popular member who had passed away not too long ago. He was
a very good friend. We spent a lot of time out at Indy together. I
missed the Canadian gathering where he gave a very emotional speech
about MG friends. He knew he was dying.
I bought the Register award, an octagonal clock, presented to Bernie
Stelman at the 25 anniversary gathering.
It was sad to see all those momentos spread over that table, that at one
point meant very much to Bernie.
I imagine that one day all my MG stuff might wind up the same way but I
hope that someone who is involved with MGs acquires them and enjoys them
as much as I did.
Cheers,
Dave Houser
