I'm going to get a sheet of good cork gasket material and make my own. I
figure it's easier, quicker and more precise than mail ordering for $4.50
per gasket! In Question #2 I was asking if a valve cover gasket for say, a
Ford Pinto or something (probably a bad example, but you get the point, I
hope) would fit.
Yes, I have the original valve cover. The only things not OEM on my car are
the s/s brake lines, ANSA exhaust, the fuel pump and the battery!
I adjusted the belt, and still got zero volts at the alternator when
turning. Unfortunately, the local "Auto Zone" can't test it, and it's Labor
Day, so my trusty country alternator repair guy isn't answering the phone.
The country guy is the only one here familiar with Lucas, since many old
American farm tractors have some Lucas parts. It may just be the brushes,
but the local guy can still get the part quicker and cheaper than mail
ordering.
