John, Thanks for the feedback. The old alternator was definately not working so no worry about dumping a good one. It has an internal regulator with diodes which is what I think is what went bad on it. The 79 has one connector which plugs in with all three wires so its hard to just remove one wire. Thanks again for the response I'm still looking for someone who went through this exact thing so they can give me the "miracle cure". Denny |
