Regarding those "blue" headlights. For more than you probably ever wanted
to know about lighting and headlights see:
http://lighting.mbz.org/ (yep, no "www" )
There is are write-ups on the various types of lighting systems and blue
lights etc.
I was waiting for Mr. Bettencourt to comment on this as I got the link off
of his web page. Maybe he's no longer on the list.
The conversion for a Lucas 7" round is a bit expensive - it isn't just a
new bulb but a replacement of the sealed beam with a replaceable bulb
set-up. I am considering it - not the "blue" lights but a halogen
replaceable-bulb system. if I do it I'll let everyone know how it works.

Yeh, they are halogen, and they are very bright (and, yes bluish when
coming
at you.) But, it is not really the construction of the headlights. Lens
and
reflector are not different. It's the bulb. They are very "in" in
Germany,
almost every Mercedes and BMW (old and new) have them now, self imposed
status thing, I guess. I can buy them for my D*dge Caravan (LBC support
vehicle) for $25.00 each. I just don't see the need. Haven't checked on
what it would cost for my MGB.

I beleive they are a halogen light but the lense and reflectoe oare
of a new
design. They are extremely intense. Of course a lot of people have
them on
cars because they think it's "cool" not as a functional item...
