Peter,
I too have replaced this piece. I was able to do it by removing the
airvents in the center of the facia. There is a nut that holds the choke
handle assembly in the hole. This will have to be removed, and the wire
connecting to the carburator linkage removed. Then the while thing will
slide out. (one piece construction). Installation is the reverse, it helps
to have small hands (I don't). Good luck
