Hi Ron;

Carpooled for several years with an older gentleman who drove a
"Landcrab"
which was an enlarged and slightly rounder version of the 1100 Austins. It was
my understanding that this car was originally designed for the UK market but
both its ungainly/large design and thursty appetite made it unsuitable and a
few found their way over here. It was neither a popular or common car in
Canada with Mr Dunlop's being the only one in our entire area. I believe it
was even designed with the Hydrolastic suspension found in many of the BMC
vehicles of the era.
By UK standards of the time it was a beamoth and not a very pretty one
at
that. I can still remember the strange ride it had and unique feel due to the
front wheel drive seldom seen over hear at that time. I also think it simply
shared the b-series engine used in our MGB's. I have not seen an 1800 since Mr
Dunlop's departed this earth (nor do I want to, I seen enough of one way back
then!!!!).
As to inclusion of other MG's I most heartedly agree that all are
welcome (we
are indeed "family")
                                                        Drew
