Hello all, this is just a report on the conversion to twin SU's form the (
expletive deleted ) Zenith-Stromberg carb thing. I took all the smog junk
off, meaning the air pump and injection manifold, gulp valve, carb, manifold
and catalytic converter and replaced with HIF carbs, I used the stock cast
iron exaust manifold and tied it to an Ansa exaust. For air filtration I
went with K&N cone shaped filters as this was the best fit between the rear
carb and the servo. I got these filters from Moss for 49.00, I was quoted
58 to 60 bucks from other places. Beleve it or not Moss was the cheapest I
could find. Anyway, the difference? UNBELIVEABLE!!! There is so much more
response in the throttle and much more mid-range power and it runs much
cooler of course it helps not to have a glowing chunk of metal under the
hood too. For those who can make this conversion I greatly recommend it as
this is truly the way these things should run. Right now the only problem I
have with the car is the 77 problem of wanting to run after the ignition
switch is turned off. Anybody have a cure for this please enlighten me.
According to Twist this is a problem unique to the 77 model.

77B which runs great and will have OD as
soon as I can do it
