Mike,
The next time you head that way and decide to go on to Myrtle Beach,
instead of the 701 route to North Myrtle Beach, at South of the Border,
get on I-95 and head south. Get of on SC 9 (near Dillon SC, about 10
miles from South Of the Border) Follow 9 to North Myrtle Beach. Highway 9
ends just north of Cherry Grove Beach, when it flows into US 17.
From that point, you can go south to N. Myrtle Beach (about 5 miles) or
north toward Wilmington NC, Calabash, Topsail beach , etc.
The ride down #9 is great. Good wide two lane blacktop, through small
'burgs and towns, and through some great scenery, especially when nearing
the coast.
