We are not talking about the academic community here, we are talking about
the list, which is closer to a social group. A Ph.D. in one discipline does
not imply expertise in others and thus is irrelevant to opinions expressed
outside one's own field. The finest quality of the list community is its
egalitarianism. We don't need degrees here.
Larry- Sorry that I missed you at Hagerstown also. I kept looking for the
hats but didn't really see them until John's tech session, and then everyone
was really concentrating on what he had to say.
