Who ever wrote that quiz was not very knowledgeable.....
"How many distinct and different engines were used in the MG body
between 1962 and 1979?"
Answer, The 'A' series in the Midget ( types 10CG,10CC,12CC,12CE, 12V)
The 'B' series in the Magnette, (15GE, 16GE, 16GF,)
The 'A' series in the 1100/1300, (12G, 12GR)
The 'B' seies in the MGB, (18G,
18GA,18GB,18GD,18GG,18GF,18GG,18GJ,18GK,18V.Y, 18V.Z, 18V.AE, 18V.F.)
The 'C' series in the MGC, (29G)
The MGB GT V8, with its Buick/Pontiac/Oldsmobile V8 unit.
Who's a big-head? The distinct engines used by MG in those years were
the A, B, C, & V8. The 3 main bearing B and 5 main bearing B are really
different as well.
Wnat to know more? I wrote a book on MG engines 1935 to 1998.
