Finally had a chance to examine my pistons, rings etc. on my 70 BGT. I am trying to determine if new pistons are needed. Generally they look like the can be cleaned up ok. The bottom skirt clearance is about .003" to .0035". Is this acceptable or will new pistons be needed? If I use them what are the risks. The cylinders are fine and within spec. with no signs of unusual wear. Thanks for any suggestions. Don Hicks 70 BGT |
