sorry nick no one answerd your question of why the car would not run till it had a full charge in the batteries so I figured I would answer you now. Two words British engenering. They decied to place an electric fuel pump in our cars. They usaly do not operate well with low batteries and that is why the car would not start. enjoy your 73 I shure do.
