No need to live with misaligned chrome strips, at least
visually.
Get all the panels as good as you can, then pop the chrome
strips off and redrill holes for the holding clips. The
clips come off with a small drill and can be pop rivetted
into the new holes quickly.
If you make the chrome strips straight, that will look good
to all but the closest inspection, that will notice the
body seams are not perfectly inline with the chrome strips
or with each other.
