If you continue reading the next paragraph of the General information it
goes on to state:
CAUTION: NEVER use a "HEI" type coil with the ignitor. This type of coil
will provide too much current to the ignitor, causing it to butn out and
fail...
I don't know what an "HEI" type coil. But maybe someone on the list does.
I have had no probelms with the ignitor, using stock coil and standard pulg
gap. So personally I wouldn't change a thing unless I was guaranteed
significant improvrement in performance!

Short answer: No problems.
Your note made me re-read the warning carefully. "The Ignitor is compatible
with any "Point Type" after-market of OEM coil regardless of voltage
output."
The paragraph with the phrase "40,000 volt coil" is an advertisement for
_their_ high performance coil.
The only considerartion is whether the Lucas Sport coil has the minimum 1.5
ohms of resistance across the the "+" and "-" poles that the Ignitor needs.
I just checked with my multimeter and the Lucas Sport coil has 3 ohms of
resistance across poles.
Thanks for the concern. Hope this helps,
Jeff
