Spencer, I would check the timing, compression and vacuum. If you
are not sure what to look for get a book from the library on repairing any
type of car engine. These books will help to trouble shoot the problem.
Also check the vacuum advance on the distributor and any loose conections
in the low tension circut. While you are at it make sure you have enough
oil in the carbs and that the filters are clean.
