Hi Paul: I have not had much luck with unleaded fuel. My BGT travels from
6 to 15 thousand miles a year and I'm on the fourth valve job in six years.
Just replaced the original cyl head, which had seats in the exh and intake.
The exh.seats were worn excessively, the intakes were fine. I think you
would be wise to specify the hardest seat, your machinist can come up with.
IMHO it depends on how hard you drive and the rpm's the eng. is turning.
A V8 B with the original gearing is not going to be a problem, a 1800 B
is going to wear the seats rapidly ,in my opinion. I now use a lead
substitute,with hardened seats!!
Hope You Have Better Luck
