Robert,
I don't know anything about the weber, but I think you can forget
about playing with the valves, etc.... First off, they don't just
suddenly 'get out'. That gets you basically down to A. fuel, and B. spark.
Sounds like you've checked all the 'spark' components. From your
description, I'd say you're exactly correct, the engine is running way to
rich, and as it warms up, it loads up and dies. Sounds like a carb.
problem to me, just a guess....
