The effects of whatever the tire is filled with should be of small, if
any, consequence, since you will deflate the tire when repairs are made.

Motorcyclists have been doing this for years, and the cycle shop I
consulted was not aware of any problems. Of course, if you have a real
oil burner, that may be a different story.
