The heads fitted to 1500 and 1600 engines have 1.5" intake and
1.281" exhaust valves and a 38.7 cc combustion chamber ... the
1622 and 1798 (18G thru 18GK) engines have 1.565" intake and
1.345" exhaust valves and a 43 cc combustion chamber ... the
1798 18V engines from '71-74 (are known as the "Big Valve
Heads") have 1.625" intake and 1.345" exhaust valves and a 39cc
combustion chamber, however the combustion chamber was enlarged
and reshaped to incorparate the larger valve and to reduce the
'Westlake Promontory' (the peak between the intake and
exhaust valves), so the thickness of the head was reduced, the
block face was relieved to allow clearance for the exhaust
valves, and the tappets/pushrods were shortened to correct the
valvetrain geometry.

The above are just the cylinder head combustion chamber volumes
... if your looking for the impact on the CR, this will varying
depending on you piston (dish) selection ... IOW, HC or LC pistons.
