Well, Bob, your wiper arms must be different than my '79. Mine have a
little button that protrudes fron the front side of the arm which engages
in a hole in the wiper blade. The underside of the blade has a spring
which holds the end of the arm firmly against this hole. So, either your
arms have no button, or the blades are missing either the hole or the
spring.
Depending on the type of blade, you may be able to use a set screw, either
threaded into the blade assembly, or into the tip of the arm (probably a
more durable option) Just my 1 1/2 cents worth.
