Differences between alt pulleys

I put a late style alternator (from a rubber-bumper car I think) on my 72
B and I notice that the pulley doesn't quite line up with the water pump
and crankshaft pulleys.  I bought a later pulley (Moss #130-380) which was
used on cars from 410001 onwards.  Will using this pulling on my present
setup get things in line again?
