The exact same situation pertained when I recently replaced the shocks on
my 70 B-GT. I used the GT springs (one additional leaf or so I am told).
=%OAfter letting it sit for months I put some weight on the back (2 large boys)

=%Owas able to spring it enough to attach both.
I had two of my neighbors and my wife (who isn't very big, but was
standing there anyway) sit in the back before I could attach the strap.
=%OThe rebound strap is TIGHT.
The strap is TIGHT on my car too. And it worries me too!!!

I don't know if it is either, I hope we can get the opinions of those who
are "in the know" out there on this issue.
