Hello.
I was daydreaming of peaceful time in the garage this weekend putting
the motor back together for my '74 B, when my mind wandered to the motor
mounts. When I was browsing the Haynes, I recall them mentioning to
"reinstall the packing plate in the left motor mount, if it exists."
I've seen the plate in the catalogs, and know that my car didn't have
one when I took it apart. I began to wonder if it was just lost by the
PO, or if one was never required on my model. Could any of you explain
to me what this little shim of metal does or how to determine if I need
it? If I need to order one, I'd like to know in time to order ahead.
