Haven't been able to move quite as quickly on the A as I'd like due to a
variety of circumstances (most of which were beyond my control).
However, I expect to take some time off next week that, together with
tonight, tomorrow night, all day Saturday and a good part of Sunday,
should allow me to reach my goal.
I've made a list (2 pages) of things that need to be done as not
everything is as obvious as before.

One of the items is to attach the tonneau cover. I've a Moss tonneau
cover (new type without the steering wheel pocket). I believe the old
holes for the fastener pegs in the front are in the right place but
don't have any fastener holes for the back. In looking at "The Original
MGA" - it is not clear whether the fastener pegs attach to the cockpit
molding or the sheet metal. Any input will be appreciated.

Another item is to install the new 3 pt seat belts. Now the owners
manual suggests that the top mounts be installed right through the sheet
metal behind the cockpit just in front of the trunk deck. There are a
couple of braces there but I hate to go drilling through the body any
more than necessary. I've heard that one can go through the wheel arch
panel (I guess the other side would be the wheel well). Any other
suggestions? Advantages/disadvantages?

A tip - I had a tough time removing the phillips screws holding a flange
around the fuel tank fill neck. I carefully cleaned out the slots and
was able to remove one that way but the other two wouldn't budge. I
tried to use a screw extractor but it kept on slipping in the chuck in
spite of efforts to tighten it that would've made Conan the Extractor
proud. I wound up using a carbide wheel on a Dremel tool to cut slots
in both heads - converting them to standard type heads. It was then a
snap to remove them using my most macho standard screwdriver.

thanks for the help
