As a confirmed OF, this "Heel/Toe" thing just comes naturally to me.
There were many young lads in the British army back in the '50's that
I taught to do this. I trust they still practice the art.
It's something that just comes naturally when you have driven army
vehicles with no synchromesh. We called them "crash-type gearboxes)
Also when done with an MG, makes one sound as though the driver really
knows what he/she is doing.
It's a case of bringing the engine/gearbox/roadwheels to an agreeable
speed so that when gears are changed there is no grinding and no jerking.
