I would say the scissor jack is a better way to go. They fold down to only
a few inches high, which is a big plus. They also have a larger base both
on the top and bottom which distributes the weight better. They always
work (no oil to leak out), and you can get one from a junk yard for next
to nothing. Get one from a compact car since they will be smaller.
