I can't help you with your questions, but I'd like to impart some advice
from someone who has restored two MGs. Leave the paint job for last.
You surely don't want to be pulling the engine and tranny out of the
car, only to have it careen out of control and put a 25" scratch into your
freshly painted hood or fender. Fortunately I did not experience such a
tragedy, but I think all here will agree that new paint and engine work, etc.
don't mix.

I have a '78 B as well. It's a gorgeous
Pageant Blue which makes for a real eye turner, especially the ladies:)
