If roadsters *weren't* meant to be driven in the rain they wouldn't have drain
holes in the floor.
I remember reading a roadtest of the Morris Minor convertible (when they were
new,
I mean) where the tester commented on the sensible choice of painted dash and
vinyl
upholstery since 'every convertible will be caught in a rainshower with the
roof
down at least once'. Obviously he hadn't come across many MGB drivers. The
same
tester did another test on a B (again when new) and claimed 'the engine has so
much
torque that it should no diminution of speed on an incline with the same
throttle
opening as before'. Before the days of Trades Descriptions, of course.
