When you are in Canada and order from a U.S. company tell them that you want it shipped through the U.S. Postal Service. UPS will charge you GST and $40 or 45 in brokerage fees. Canada Post will charge you GST and a $5 handling charge only. If your car is older than a certain number of years you qualify for an exemption on the duty. My 1966 MGB qualifies but I don't remember what the cutoff is. Dirk de Boer |
