Woke up this morning to discover that the San Francisco Bay reclaimed
part of the road in front of my place. There was about a foot of water
at the deepest point. Then I went outside to find the brackish water
from the bay taking over the parking lot as well and lapping at the tires
of my B. Thankfully, it has enormous 195/75's, so only the rubber got
wet. And within about a half hour, the water receeded. After consulting
the charts (both tidal and astrological) I've decided to move the cars to
higher ground before tomorrow morning's high tide. It may take at least
two top-down motoring excursions for me to forget this episode. I hope
everyone else is higher and dryer than I've been.
