Wheels/Tires for MGBGT (knock-on mags 15x6")

I have to replace very tired wire wheels and splined hubs on my GT.

I am thinking of knockon mags and they come in various sizes including
15x6" - has anyone on the list actually tried these? If so di you have any
clearance problems? What tire size did you use?
