I believe that there was a brief flurry of interest in colors that were
supposed to be more eye-catching, as in more visible, than colors of the
time. I recall a couple of magazine articles that made that argument, one
in which a color photo of an intersection taken from 50 floors up in a
skyscraper was supposed to demonstrate the point. Seems to me that the
white cars showed up most, but then I didn't write the article.
