Hey Gang -

1) The Geo line sold through the Chevy dealerships were made by a number of
both US and Japanese firms including Isusu, Suzuki and at the NUMI plant
(combined effort by GM and Toyota) in Fremont, CA near San Jose. The Suzuki
built Metro had a 950cc 3 cylinder engine but the Storm had a 1500 or
1600cc four in it and the car was NOT made of fiberglass except for the
bumpers, skirting and spoilers.

The 5 cyl. cars on the market are, or were, as I don't really keep up on
the new stuff, from Mercedes(diesel), Audi and the Volvos, (850 and the
latest V70 models). The advantade to the Five is that they balance out and
run smoother that a four but are not as wide for a transverse mounting
application. BMC once used a transverse inline six, like from an MGC in a
BIG Mini style car that was later called the "Land Crab" because of its
width but these were never sold in the US.

Mort facts from the useless information file. See you on the Funway!
