It is a Kilo Buck Car! At least that is what you will have in it when it is
finished.
Last book I saw said an MGA parts car was worth about $1250. One that runs
and is complete but in need of restoration is about $2500. Then again, the
old car price guide was in my bank, so take it for what its worth.
As for the costs of restoration on an A, I've never kept track. Don't want to
know for fear my Scottish heritage will come forward and I will swear off
LBC's forever. I do know Shorty had over $5k in parts in his '62 Mark II, and
he did all labor himself (right down to making the interior upholstery. So I
would guess the costs for the average guy who farms parts of it out is going
to be $10-12K.
Still, if one is in LBCs to make money, I figure they will get what they
deserve for such foolishness. Ben Anderson, a fellow many of us in the
Lincoln, Omaha, Kansas City area know, said it well. "Would I worry about
coming financially on bowling?
