To All:
Most of us have seen postings and/or replies from a knowledgable person
from the area about to be re-written about: From the Chicago Sun-Times,
12/15/97 "QT" col.:
"A costly sale
Police charged a Rutland, VT woman with shoplifting $ 101.49 worth
of goods from a supermarket.
Anything more than $100 is a felony.
But the woman's attorney pointed out that the doughnuts and
batteries she stole were on sale.
So she stole $ 97.37 worth of goods.
But police pointed out that the sale prices are available only to
shoppers who show a courtesy card at the register.
So make it a felony again."
And Happy Holiday Season to you all.
Regards,
Ed
