Hi Listers,
One of the members of the CT MG Club is a 70+ yr old woman who has
damaged the cartilege in the knee of her clutch leg. Pushing the clutch
is painful, and she has trouble letting it up smoothly. This problem may
lead to her selling the car
What can anyone suggest that would be of help to her?
We have thought of a "rig" that might do the job, such as a lever
suspended from the wood dashboard, to which a horizontal rod to the
clutch pedal would be attached, so that she could clutch with her left
hand.....and steer with her right knee while shifting with her right
hand...... Seems cumbersome.
Would installation of a hydraulic clutch linkage have any advantages?
Would changing the lever length of the pivot piece on the engine
sump reduce leg effort enough to be worthwhile.
Any suggestions would be appreciated . TIA
Bob
