No 1. What is "highway speed" to you?
No.2. Yes this is normal.
In my 78 at about 70 I am running about 38-3900 rpm. YOur best bet is a
new tranny. One of the 5 speeds from a datsun fits. I have never done
this. Others on this list have perhaps they can help.
