Welcome to the list! You'll find plenty of do-it-yourselfer's here, and
lots of good advice for those times when you screw-it-up-yourself too
(it will happen).
Don't know about the MGA, as I really haven't priced them, but I don't
think you'll have much luck finding a T-series for $4000, unless you buy
it in boxes, in pieces, or if it's a real rust bucket. Someone on the
list has a restorable one in New Jersey (I think) for $5500, and that's
the best price I've ever seen on one that's worth putting money into (if
I had room for it, I'd buy it in a minute). Anything too cheap is
likely to be near-impossible to restore. Good luck in your search.
