FAST British Cars

Hey Gang,
Just read that the worlds fastest Car (and British to boot) broke the sound
barrier, 50 years and 1 day after Chuck Yeager broke that barrier in a rocket
powered plane. 
After going 759+ in one direction, they turned it around and went 766+ in the
other direction. USAC set the average speed (through some formula of
calculations) at 763.035 MPH or in other terms.... MACH 1.02.
But is it BRG?  
Raise a pint to the fastest Big British Car and crew...
