Ben,
Look hard to find no rust, especially under the carpets
and look under the car to see that there are no holes
throught he floor.
I've heard that 80,000 miles is normal for an original
engine, but I've also heard WAY longer than that.
These cars came with four-speeds. Pre-68 had synchro
on 2,3,4 only, 68+ had synchro on all four. Overdrive
was an option, but hard to find on earlier cars I think.
My 76 has OD and it definitely makes highway driving
really nice.
All the tops leak I think. Mine is garaged finally but
I've only driven it once in the rain. I got a little wet,
I must say. Some can say better though.
Leather was available from 62-69. Vinyl from there
after.
I have an in-dash CD player in my 76, but the dash
from earlier cars is different. It was a tight fit in
mine anyway.
This list can be a great help as well as the BBS.
Good luck with your choice,
Tyson
