Honest! I didn't do it!
...but locally there is an MGA for sale that apparently
is a coupe that has been converted to a roadster with
a removable hard top.
Is this a sane conversion? In other words, is there
any chance this conversion could be considered a
usable car?
Although it hurts to think of cutting up a nice car,
the result seems to have some appeal, an MGA roadster
with a hard top and real door handles. The asking
price is reasonable as well.
Am wondering if anyone has heard of this conversion
before and if the car had any major structural
problems or other gotchas.
Looking at the shape of the MGA, I wonder if the roof
ever supplied strength to keep the car together like
with most other cars. It is such a "bubble" above
the car I am doubtful, but that could be impulse
purchase talking.
