I had to go to work today for a couple of hours and since it was since a
nice day I decided to drive the Midget. Bad Move. I live about 35 miles
from work, downtown Philadelphia. The easisest way for me to get to work
is the SureKill (Schuykil (sp)) highway. I made the first 14 miles in
relative ease, about 60 mph. I am going to get a little local (loco) here
so if you miss the point refer to any large city near you. Coming off the
Conshohocken turn traffic stopped. And I mean stopped. It was about 80 in
the sun, which was OK except I wore pants (work remember) so it was hot.
It was due to some construction about 10 miles ahead. I rarely made it
above 8 mph for the next hour and a half. I drove about 6 miles in an
hour and a half. What should have been a 45 min drive turned into nearly
3 hours. But I was in the MG so it was OK. Well I got the meeting at work
45 min late. About 4 I called home to let the SO know I made it. She told
me that there were some really bad storms in the area. so I left to drive
home. The guy at the parking lot told me that the construction was still
going on so I went throught Philly (611 Broad St past Temple for those in
the know) Well everything was cool 'cept it It started to rain off and
on, but only at the stop lights. I finally got to the expressway (309)
and started to cruise. As I got close to home it started to pour. OH SH*T
the hood is in the basement. So I just kept cruisin'. My hair got wet and
I was thankful for the Rain-X we bought on NC on our trip. I had a lot of
lights to go through so I figured I was gooing to get wet. The first red
I hit guess what it had stopped raining. sailed home with some waterspots
on the inside of the the windscreen and a soaked head.
Just had to tell ya.
