Hi,

I like to thank all of the great folks on this list who have answered my
questions so far and to all those who have tolerated my posts.

I ordered a new tail pipe and doughnut for my Midget last week and went to
put it on today. After removing the old exhaust assembly I learned to my
disbelief that the DPO had welded the sliding flange to the old exhaust
pipe. I haven't come across these in any catalogs, does anyone know of a
source for these sliding flanges?

Well, I had to reinstall the old tailpipe, so I put the new doughnut in and
bolted everything down tight, no more exhaust leak, but I still smell
exhaust pretty often when I am driving. It must be coming in over the boot,
which leads me to my next question: The monza exhaust is longer than the
stock muffler and you must cut the tailpipe to length to accomodate it. The
end of my exhaust sticks out about 2" past the rear chrome bumper. Where
does the stock exhaust fall in relation to the chrome bumper on a stock
Midget? If one of you Midget owners could answer that for me I'd be mighty
grateful.
