95% of the car accidents I've witnessed myself or have heard of are cars simply bumping into each other or into a solid object at a relatively low speed. Only 5% would qualify as a real crash. In the low speed hits, you will not be thrown out of the car but you will stand a good chance of seeing the dash from up close if you don't buckle up. Even at 20mph you can get injured pretty badly. And at high speeds? In the recent Queen of Media Disaster only the person that wore a seatbelt will drive a Mercedes again. Peter 74B |
